On Saturday, August 4, Kingston's Old Dutch Church will host a fundraiser for UNIDOS, a disaster relief and recovery program to support Puerto Rico along with a screening of "From Mambo to Hip-Hop," a film that a film that tells the story of the massive and mostly unheralded contribution of Puerto Ricans to American popular music.

As a kick-off to this event, veteran music writer and producer Ken McCarthy will guest DJ at Rough Draft, spinning CDs that show the breadth and depth of the great recorded music created by Puerto Rican artists over the last nearly 100 years. 

Yes, you can dance! Or you can simply sit, sip, and enjoy. Ken will also be on hand to speak about the film's fundraising efforts and how else you can help this cause.
